Volunteering at HCEF

At the Homeless Children's Education Fund, I volunteered as part of their Afterschool Program, supporting children experiencing homelessness with academic tutoring, homework help, and enrichment activities. Working directly with students facing significant adversity reinforced my belief in education as a tool for equity and opportunity.

Just 13% of high school students experiencing homelessness read at grade level; only 11% perform at grade level in math.

Volunteering at Balia

Over two and a half years of consistent volunteering at Balia have shaped my understanding of educational inequality in Spain. I help students with academics, lead activities, and try to be a positive presence in their lives.

In Spain, 1 in every 3 children is at risk of poverty and social exclusion.

Volunteering in Nepal

Before travelling to Nepal, a group of classmates and I raised money through charity events, enough to donate uniforms to a school there. During our stay we built a water storage facility by hand to give the school access to clean water, and we taught classes to the students. We also visited several NGOs to understand how organisations are tackling socioeconomic and environmental issues in Nepal.

My Volunteering Mission

I find volunteering deeply gratifying and fulfilling, and it drives me to keep helping different communities. It lets me take part in initiatives that create real, lasting change.
